This week in an effort to bring our artists’ work into the public eye we are sharing the work of a variety of our Berrien Artist Guild Members. Many of our artists sell online. Please take a moment to appreciate their talents and show support.
One of our newest members is Fred Holland. Fred is an Assistant Adjunct Professor with the Department of Contemporary Practices, School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Fred describes his medium as “Drawing from art history texts and vernacular print I juxtapose images and text as to provoke and question concepts of morality, politics, and contemporary art.”
“As a newer tenant at the Box Factory, I have enjoyed meeting some of the others who populate this very special place. Since the advent of the Virus, the Box Factory’s powerful and reliable internet connection has allowed me to remotely teach (from my studio) my classes for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Like all of you I am looking forward to the resumption of artistic programming here at the Box and for the chance once again to rub shoulders (figuratively) with my Guild mates.”
