in the Jean Gast Classroom at the Box Factory for the Arts
Members! Please join us for our next Guilded Gathering, where first, BAG Board Member Deborah Baker will be answering questions about our upcoming Board of Directors Election. Come with questions for Deborah about who is running and/or how you can become a candidate for the board!
Studio Artist, Denise Tackett, is our presenter this month! She will talk about her Ekphrasis Writing Workshop, which she is giving on May 23. Ekphrasis writing is producing a creative piece of writing inspired by art. With ekphrasis, the writer creates a work of fiction, nonfiction, memoir, poem, haiku, or whatever else they are inspired to do.
The only thing ekphrasis is not is critique. Writers will choose one piece of work from the Box Factory Gallery’s MAAC Exhibition to be inspired by. Denise will give examples of ekphrasis writing done by other writers as inspiration.

Park at the back of the building and use the Riverwalk Door on the east side of the building. Take the stairs/elevator up to the second floor, and come straight back!
